All About Audio freebie — aka top ten audiobooks you should listen to, 10 books I want to listen to on audio, 10 bands you should check out, 10 podcasts you should be listening to, 10 of my all time favorite albums, 10 songs I love, really whatever you can come up with.
I love listening to soundtracks. I do it all the time, especially while studying (since I can’t concentrate on ‘normal’ music and always sing along). My iTunes library contains tons of Disney songs, but also plenty of instrument film scores. I want to share some of my favourites with you today! These are in no particular order:
1. Harry Potter
I am not only a fan of the Harry Potter books, but also the films. I have watched them so many times, I can tell which songs belongs to which scenes. Dumbledore’s Farewell, from the sixth film, is probably one of the most beautiful tracks:
2. Game of Thrones
While studying, I almost always listen to the Game of Thrones soundtrack. Ramin Djawadi is an absolute genius! There are so many memorable songs I can link to heartbreaking or epic scenes. Light of the Seven, which was used in the season six finale, is one of my favourites:
I not only love the track, but also love the scene. It’s probably one of my favourites in the show, even though what happened makes me sad 😦
When I listen to the Outlander soundtrack, I immediately have the feeling as if I’m Scotland. This is one of my favourite tracks:
I love plenty of Disney songs, like Part of Your World, Poor Unfortunate Souls, Colors of the Wind… But the instrumental versions are worth listening to as well! It’s hard to pick a favourite, but this one is definitely up there:
5. Star Wars
Yes, I have walked around the house pretending to be Darth Vader while listening to the Imperial March. And no, not when I was a child, because I only saw the Star Wars films for the first time in 2016. Even though I’m not a fan of Padmé and Anakin’s relationship (because of the age difference), I adore their love theme:
Bonus: Suicide Squad: the album
Suicide Squad’s soundtrack is okay, but ‘the album’ is phenomenal. I listen to it all the time. The songs make me want to dance (even though I shouldn’t) and join the squad! It’s hard to pick a favourite, but You Don’t Own Me fits Harley Quinn perfectly:
It was very difficult to limit this to five of my favourites! There are so many other films and TV shows with amazing scores! What are some of your favourite soundtracks?
