Down the TBR Hole #91-100

down the tbr hole.pngHello, my fellow book lovers! It’s time for round 10 of Down the TBR Hole, which was created by Lost in a Story. From time to time, I go to my Goodreads’ to-read shelf and change the order to ‘ascending date added’. I’ll pick ten books on that list and decide whether or not they remain on my TBR.

When you click on the graphic, you will be brought to the book’s Goodreads page. You can also read the synopsis there.

written in red.pngDespite the fact that Written in Red has received many glowing reviews, I am no longer interesting in reading this. There are SEVEN books in this series!

verdict: remove from TBR

the color purple.pngI usually don’t really read classics, but I absolutely want to pick up The Color Purple. Perhaps I’ll listen to it on audiobook soon?

verdict: remains on TBR

the false prince.pngThis fast-paced middle grade series has received many positive reviews, but I’m quite honestly not interested in reading it anymore. I actually started reading the e-book a long time ago, but I wasn’t in the mood for it then and haven’t thought of picking it up again ever since.

verdict: remove from TBR

the revenant.pngI watched the film adaptation of The Revenant and I don’t remember too much about it, so I won’t bother reading the book.

verdict: remove from TBR

saga volume 6.pngI read volume one to five of Saga back in 2016 but I’m not invested enough to continue reading these graphic novels.

verdict: remove from TBR

find her.pngThough Find Her can be read as a standalone, I don’t really want to start reading the eighth book in a series. Besides, I prefer domestic thrillers to detectives anyway.

verdict: remove from TBR

the reborn king.pngI’m not interested in starting another fantasy series, especially one that has received average reviews and has less than 500 ratings on Goodreads.

verdict: remove from TBR

locke & key.pngThis graphic novel has received many positive reviews from my Goodreads friends. Nonetheless, I am not interested in reading this… Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of graphic novels and comics, so I’d rather spend my time reading novels instead.

verdict: remove from TBR

wink poppy midnight.pngI absolutely adore this cover, but sadly, the book itself hasn’t received much praise. Though I’m always tempted to buy it whenever I see Wink Poppy Midnight, I think I’ll listen to my fellow readers.

verdict: remove from TBR

starflight.pngI seem to be on a roll today, because I’m not interested in reading this one anymore either. I rarely read sci-fi so I don’t see myself pick up Starflight, which hasn’t received a ton of hype and is mostly described as ‘fun’. I prefer more depth in the books I read; not just a fun, probably unmemorable page-turner.

verdict: remove from TBR

I actually own none of the books I talked about today, which made it much easier to remove books from my TBR! Do you think I made any mistakes in my verdicts? Let me know in the comments!

I have two of these books on my Want to Read shelf, Starflight, and Wink Poppy Midnight. I’m planning on reading both this year. I am weary about Starflight as it is Sci-Fi and the last true sci-fi book that I read severely let me down.
